New Web Hosting

by Kosch 17. September 2009 23:46

Well I decided to take the plunge and change my hosting provider yesterday evening. I've been with discountasp.net for 3 years now. They provide an awesome quick stable service but there prices were a bit high for renting MSSQL space and also they removed MySQL support. So I've changed over to GoDaddy which was a fraction of the price and I've got a boat load of MS/My SQL DB space now. This means I can now run blogs, forums and DKP systems if/when I find the time for MMO's :)

Was a good price for the windows deluxe plan and I got 20% off so it was about £44 for a years hosting which was half the price of discountasp.net I just hope GoDaddys servers are as stable and fast as theirs!

I'm still testing the BlogEngine.Net so the site will be in a state of chaos or I might move to .Net Nuke who knows.

DNS for the MX records was changed last night and I changed the A record for www. this evening so hopefully everything should catch up with itself.

In the mean time here is a rather amusing photo of what appears to be a ghost haunting some storage. Oooooh spooky!

Avarst!

I'll have to come up with something clever to put here.

In the mean time enjoy a B5 quote.

Our great mistake, our failing and now your failing. The error is compounded.

What mistake?

The first one. The one from which all mistakes precede. The error of pride.

We had traveled to a thousand worlds. We brought order, discipline. We appeared to them as beings of light. They saw us as emissaries of the universe.

They saw us as gods. And we, in our pride, begin to believe them. We believed that we were superior to the universe that gave us birth. We believed that we could transcend this dimension, that we believed that we belonged to a another higher plain.

And in the end, in terms you can understand, we resolved to storm the gates of heaven itself. We applied all our wisdom. All our knowledge, to opening a door to another dimension. A place, we believed was the well of souls, the foundation for all life. We would touch the face of God and in so doing become gods ourselves.

We forgot that a door may swing in two direction. We were so concerned with getting out, that we never stopped to consider what we might be letting in, until it was too late...
