Android Lust - Ultraman

by Kosch 23. December 2009 00:44

Its driving me nuts I cant seem to find the lyrics to Ultraman by Android Lust anywhere!

I was able to scan the mp3 file and confirm it was indeed an AL track using MusicBrainz but cant find the lyrics and even with headphones and adjusting the crystalizer on the X-Fi still cant hear some of the words.

http://musicbrainz.org/track/ed4a61be-7469-4e60-9315-ed34518553ae.html?tport=8000

If anyone knows please drop me a line!

Back to 5mpbs w00t

by Kosch 10. October 2009 15:23

Well after speaking to Sky CS and them insisting on sending me a new router back on the 29/09/09 and it still not arriving I decided to phone them up this morning. I was told the new router was never dispatched not really a problem as I knew the router wasnt at fault as I use my own one and not theirs. But I was put through to one of their agents who was actually willing to listen to me rather than just fob me off with "oh it must be something you have done". I suggested my line may have been switched to ADSL2 & DLM, after a few seconds of checking he was able to confirm this and then switch my line back to G.DMT and I think he also said he would hard set the line.

I'm very happy to have a stable connection and a 600kb/sec download speed!

I've seen a few other posts on the unoffical Sky Broadband forum so it could be tha Sky has (another) campaign on at the moment to switch people over to ADSL2 or inflict DLM onto them.

Aion, beta sign ups & ADSL trouble

by Kosch 6. October 2009 22:51

Well Aion is going quite smoothly bought the other half an account so she can play as well. The server queues on Gorgos are a nightmare sometimes 1-3 hour queue. So its a case of powering up both computers when either of us get home and signing in.

I've gone back to my roots with my class selection, the good old pet class (Spirit Master). Aaah such fond memory from playing a mage in EverQuest 1 for 6 years :)

You start off with the mage class as your primary choice then once you hit level 10 you can choose the Sorcerer or Spirit Master. Much like the Mage in EQ your pets have a varieties of roles from Caster/Melee DPS, Tank & somewhere inbetween.

So far I've progressed to level 20 which has also open up the AA/Talent tree system in Aion which involves buying shards and then gluing them in. Havent encountered any PvP but from what I saw in a Campaign quest it can only just be around the corner for my character.

Signed up for a few closed beta this evening, SW: The Old Rebpublic  & ST: Online Be warned when you sign up for TOR & apply for beta make sure you do it in IE rather than FF as their system scanner is an Active X control and their Java plugin doesnt seem to work. Dont know if I will hear anything back but worth a look.

The ADSL is still on the fritz and Sky is doing my nut. After having a flawless 5mbps (600kb/sec ish) connection for nearly 13 months the past 3 weeks its been totally flakey and gone down to nearly 3mpbs (410kb/sec ish) which sucks and also randomly disconnecting. Sky refuse to call BT until they send me some new equipment which is a load of crap as I have the issue with my router and their netgear one. I've tried things like using the test socket on the master socket and even removed my pre-filtered master plate  to make sure that wasnt causing any problems. I'm not sure if they have enabled DLM on my line or migrated it to ADSL2+ which is known to cause a few problems. Guess I will just have to jump through their hoops for the next 2 months. Theres a very helpful 3rd party user site for Sky ADSL users. The worst part is the random disconnects especially when your in a queue of three thousand people for AION and you loose your spots!

Hmm by the looks of it I need to get hold of some proper picture controls for blognet engine but I'll leave that for another time so heres some pics just jammed right on in the page there.

You can find my character online here - Terestier

Just remembered I was going to comment on Star Gate: Universe which was shown in Sky 1 tonight (HD for me) but forgot so I'll get around to that at some point. I think the 3rd episode is due to premier on the newly renamed SyFy channel in the USA this Friday. Maybe I can wait till tuesday to watch it on Sky who knows!

Mass Effect 2 - New Video

by Kosch 6. October 2009 13:27

Havent visited the Mass Effect site in a while and noticed they put a new video up.

This looks like one of the characters you can have in your team. Good to see Tattoo's are still popular in the future. Also seems she likes to swear alot, Fuck this fuck that, fuck you. I bet she is going to be a fun character!

Probably turns out her daddy didnt buy her a pony when she was young and now she's all full of anger.

"Turns out you mess with someones head enough and you can turn a scared kid into an all powerful bitch."

Asus Xtreme Global Summit

by Kosch 18. September 2009 00:20
How cool is that I won the week 2 competition to attend the Asus Extreme Global Summit!

http://www.bit-tech.net/blog/2009/08/12/axgs-week-2-winners/

The guys at Bit-Tech have posted a video of me. I say a few words and appear a couple of times in the video woot :)

I'm planning to post the photos and do some more write ups when I get time which I'm obliged to do as I got a £300  Asus Matrix GTX 285 out of it :)

Heres some very quick results from FurMark. I have got some X3:TC bench results but I cant be arsed to format them all properly.

My intial thoughts on the Matrix 285

  • Excellent Cooling system, with those high clocks with low fan. During FB temps only got upto 60 I think need to double check that.
  • The card really squeals like a pig. Reminds me of my 8800 GTX Ultra. This is highly annoying.
  • Fan has a slightly higher pitch than my 275
  • Love the burn in BIOS settings and the emergency reset button haha
  • Confused why one 8-pin and 6-pin power socket.

New Web Hosting

by Kosch 17. September 2009 23:46

Well I decided to take the plunge and change my hosting provider yesterday evening. I've been with discountasp.net for 3 years now. They provide an awesome quick stable service but there prices were a bit high for renting MSSQL space and also they removed MySQL support. So I've changed over to GoDaddy which was a fraction of the price and I've got a boat load of MS/My SQL DB space now. This means I can now run blogs, forums and DKP systems if/when I find the time for MMO's :)

Was a good price for the windows deluxe plan and I got 20% off so it was about £44 for a years hosting which was half the price of discountasp.net I just hope GoDaddys servers are as stable and fast as theirs!

I'm still testing the BlogEngine.Net so the site will be in a state of chaos or I might move to .Net Nuke who knows.

DNS for the MX records was changed last night and I changed the A record for www. this evening so hopefully everything should catch up with itself.

In the mean time here is a rather amusing photo of what appears to be a ghost haunting some storage. Oooooh spooky!

Avarst!

I'll have to come up with something clever to put here.

In the mean time enjoy a B5 quote.

Our great mistake, our failing and now your failing. The error is compounded.

What mistake?

The first one. The one from which all mistakes precede. The error of pride.

We had traveled to a thousand worlds. We brought order, discipline. We appeared to them as beings of light. They saw us as emissaries of the universe.

They saw us as gods. And we, in our pride, begin to believe them. We believed that we were superior to the universe that gave us birth. We believed that we could transcend this dimension, that we believed that we belonged to a another higher plain.

And in the end, in terms you can understand, we resolved to storm the gates of heaven itself. We applied all our wisdom. All our knowledge, to opening a door to another dimension. A place, we believed was the well of souls, the foundation for all life. We would touch the face of God and in so doing become gods ourselves.

We forgot that a door may swing in two direction. We were so concerned with getting out, that we never stopped to consider what we might be letting in, until it was too late...
